Wonderful to see so much bunting around the village and so many street parties today, well done everybody!
Fantastic beacon lighting event last night, so thank you to all the people who arranged it and to the hundreds of you who attended to create such a wonderful community occasion.
But that was just the start – tomorrow is a busy day too.
Scarning Art Club have an exhibition in the village hall from 10-4pm. Having admired their considerable skills and perhaps bought some artwork, why not enjoy a cup of coffee and some cake in one of the marquees in the rear garden of the village hall? (From 10am to 12 noon) The photo is of the two marquees being set up in preparation.
You could then cross the road (carefully of course!) to the church to see a photographic display of village life, Scarning school artwork, plus the wonderful flower displays around the church itself.
But that’s not all! In the afternoon, you could return to the village hall garden and partake of a special Jubilee cream tea. Numbers are limited so booking is recommended – please phone Tricia Foreman 07941 592506.
We’re all watching the weather forecast for Sunday, which isn’t looking promising for the picnic and fete on the Playing Field. However, there is a Plan B so we will still be able to celebrate on the final day of the Jubilee Weekend.
So, watch this space and we’ll keep you informed whether Plan A or Plan B takes place!
