My name is Joe Wales, I am 14 years old and  attend Dereham Neatherd high school. I am a former pupil of Scarning preschool and primary school and I live in Old Scarning village.

I recently chose geography as one of my GCSE subjects and have been lucky enough to get one of the few spaces on the educational geography school trip to Iceland in October 2022.

On the trip we get to visit Heimaey, explore Vestmannaeyjar, Eldheimar museum, climb Eldfell volcano, see the spectacular views of several Icelandic waterfalls, watch the Strokkur geysir erupt, explore Thingvellir national park, walk to the top of Stora Dimon, walk behind one of Icelands largest waterfalls at Selijalandsfoss, climb to the top of Skogafoss waterfall, walk to the snout of Solheimajokull, view the basalt columns and beach, visit the interactive lava exhibition, eat in a Viking restaurant, wander through Reykjavik and finally relax at the Blue Lagoon. All this in just 5 days!

To raise spending money for the trip, throughout the winter I’m chopping and selling 2kg kindling bags at 3 Home Field Close. There is a little box outside the house please help yourself and put money through the letter box. Or to order you can email d_wales@sky.com  and the bag/bags can be delivered locally in Old Scarning

Thank you for your support
