One of the frequent requests for an improvement for Scarning is a pub. Sadly, we will probably never have a permanent pub, but perhaps we could have a “pop-up pub” instead.

This Friday (Nov 19th) will be the second Dirty Donkey Do.

It is a free sociable event, just like a pub, where you can just turn up when you like and have a drink with friends & neighbours. The only difference is that you will need to bring your own refreshments. There will be teas and coffees plus crisps and nuts on sale, but everything else you’ll need to bring yourself. However, that means you can have a night down the pub, but at supermarket prices!

It’s not a fund-raising event, and it’s not for profit, so there’s no entrance fee, but we do need to pay for the hire of the village hall somehow. So, there will be raffle tickets on sale plus the teas and crisps, purely to pay for the hall for the evening, so please bring some coins with you.

So, please come along – from 7.30pm this Friday. If you’re not able to make it, it’s the third Friday of every month, so the following Dirty Donkey Do will be on Friday 17th December.

It’s open to anyone to attend, young or old, Scarning or not, so please spread the word to your friends and neighbours and let’s get a “pub” back in Scarning!

Hope to see you on Friday.
