Scarning Village Hall
Scarning Village Hall has served as a public meeting place since it was built in 1902. It has recently undergone major works to upgrade and extend the facilities to better serve the needs of the ever-growing village of Scarning. The main hall is open galleried and can sit 80 persons to eat in comfort. There is a minstrel’s gallery also suitable for musical entertainment.
During the latter part of 2020 the wooden floor in the Main Hall – some 118 years old – was expertly renovated and treated, preserving its natural grain and the Hall completely redecorated giving a lighter and brighter ambience.
The kitchen has been completely modernised, in keeping with the aesthetics of the hall, and includes new units, a double oven, hob with extractor, dishwasher and refrigerator, together with ample workspace. A serving hatch gives access to a small Meeting Room off the Main Hall.
The toilet facilities have also been upgraded.
The grounds to the Hall are substantial and they lead through to a large garden suitable for a bouncy castle and the Playing Field beyond.
A defibrillator situated in the telephone box outside the Village Hall has been installed and is being maintained by the Trust.
These features make Scarning Village Hall an excellent venue for functions such as wedding receptions, family parties, public events, training days, conferences, civic meetings, health visitors, keep fit classes, dance classes, members’ clubs, school and educational activities etc.
