At a recent aboutDereham meeting, Ian Odgers recently gave an impassioned speech covering the early days of what was originally the Ukrainian Aid Centre.

They still raise funds and donations for Ukraine, but over time their remit has changed and they offer support, help and advice to people of many nationalities. The Centre is on course to become a registered charity with their AGM on 19 April.

Dereham may also be awarded the status of a Town of Sanctuary.

There is still time to donate to their fund-raiser, or send in an entry to the Poems for Peace competition – deadline 3rd May.
