The December edition of your community newsletter is ready for downloading from this website – Scarning Beacon – Dec 2021

The Christmas Craft Fair is taking place on Sat 4th Dec from 10 to 2pm in the Church and Village Hall. There will be lots of stalls selling a wide range of goodies in the church, together with an exhibition by Scarning Art Club. Seasonal refreshments will be served in the Village Hall and there will be games for all the family. The Fair will provide a splendid start to the Christmas season. The previous day (Dec 3rd), Dereham Walkers Are Welcome are arranging another guided walk, starting from the Market Place, with a wide range of distances, so it really appeals to all levels of fitness. More details are on Page 12.

Scarning Table Tennis Club have recently been able to resume their activities, with weekly afternoon sessions and regular competitive matches in the local table tennis league. So, they also appeal to players of all abilities and would be delighted if you wish to join them. Further details on Page 15.

Returning to the “C” word, Liz Taylor talks of her festive family traditions from Poland on Page 18 and includes a recipe for Polish-style soup on Page 26. Laura Steward includes some very timely advice for a greener Christmas, both before and after the Big Day on Page 17.

Finally, there will definitely be a Christmas theme to this month’s Dirty Donkey Do, so why not don your best Christmas jumper and come along for some festive cheer on Fri 19th? Details on Page 14.
