The two tennis courts at the Shipdham Lane playing field have both been refurbished!
Court One has been its surface completely painted, new lines applied and a new net fitted and is looking very smart indeed.
Court Two has been professionally cleaned and has also been re-lined and is also looking very good.
This has all been generously funded by the Scarning Tennis Club and a long-standing player, Charles Armstrong, in particular, and a huge thank you is owed to them all.
Community Tennis Sessions are held twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays, when both courts are unlocked and free for anyone to come along and play in a sociable game of tennis. Players of all ages and abilities are very welcome, though children under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult.
So, if you haven’t played since you left school, or you’re a keen player, why not come along and meet like-minded people? You can even have a game of outdoor table tennis if you have to wait for a court!
Details of how to book the courts, and the Community Tennis Sessions, are both on the Scarning Tennis page.
