26th June – St Nicholas Bowls Club visited Scarning. It was a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon playing for the Vic Hudson Cup. This is an annual event in memory of Victor Hudson, who played for Scarning Bowls Club and St Nicholas Bowls Club in Dereham. Vic’s whole family attends these matches and a family member played in each block. Scarning retained the cup for 2022. Scarning President Andy Hudson presented The Vic Hudson Cup to our Captain Ronnie Chapman, with Sylvia Meredith, the Captain of St Nicholas.

2nd August 2022 – The first outing of the team in the smashing new shirts at Gressenhall Bowls Club.

Elmham and District Bowls League Table
Summer 2022 Division 2 – 

Scarning Bowls Club came second to the Division winners Lyng and District. There were eight clubs in Division 2, so it was a good achievement. We will be playing in Division 1 next year.

Dereham And District Bowls League Table
Summer 2022 Division 2 –

Scarning Bowls Club came fifth in Division 2 which is middle place as there are 9 teams playing in the Division.

The end of season presentation evening was well attended and a great evening had by all with a Fish and Chip Supper provided for us by “IB The Chippy” van and with entertainment by Tony Amos and friends.

Scarning Bowls Club welcomes all-comers to try the game of bowls at all entry levels. Come for a “roll up” on Wednesday afternoons in the summer months. Coaching is available for newbies and competent players will also be most welcome.
